Exterior wood surfaces are enriched by the natural beauty of the wood, which contains natural protection, but that is not long lasting. Wood loses its natural gloss and original color, which COLOR WOOD STAIN helps to retain in the long-term, and additionally protects the wood from the weather (UV rays, rain, and snow) and helps maintain its good condition.

With each application, the wood stain becomes darker. If you do not want a darker finish look than the selected shade, add a colorless wood stain for restorative painting to the selected shade of wood stain.

For a finer and more sophisticated finishing look of surface, we recommend light sanding between individual layers. In this case, wait 24 hours between first layer and sanding.  Before applying the next coat, remove any dust that has formed during the sanding. The coating will dry 2-3 days.

For the best possible results, clean resinous and tropical wood types with COLOR NITRO THINNER before using COLOR VARNISH.

We recommend the pre-use of the COLOR QUICK-DRYING VARNISH PRIMER:

For a better appearance and longer lasting protection of the chosen wooden surface, we recommend first applying COLOR QUICK-DRYING VARNISH PRIMER, lightly sanding the surface between the layers, and after the indicated drying time, protecting the surface with COLOR QUICK-DRYING VARNISH in one or two coats.

We recommend using a water-based COLOR QUICK-DRYING VARNISH:
– when you do not want to harm your health and the environment with solvents,
– when you want the varnish  to be quick-drying,
– when you do not want to buy paint thinner for thinning or washing the tools,
– when you want the varnish  to have good adhesion.

A strong odor of organic solvents may develop in poorly ventilated rooms, so we do not recommend using coatings on the basis of alkyd binders to paint interior parts of furniture. In this case, we suggest COLOR ACRYLIC PRIMER FOR WOOD, which is based on water and does not smell. COLOR PRIMER FOR WOOD is suitable for all exterior wooden surfaces, interior building furniture, wooden structures, various paneling etc.

We always recommend COLOR PRIMER FOR METAL before applying COLOR ENAMEL. We especially recommend it when you want:
– to protect metal or steel surfaces from rusting,
– to ensure good adhesion of the next layers of paint,
– good coverage,
– easy work.

If you are removing rust with acid-based chemical agents (phosphor), the surface must be thoroughly rinsed with water and dried, only then COLOR PRIMER FOR METAL may be applied. Residues of these agents prevent primer from drying.

Iron and steel surfaces are properly prepared for renovation by removing the rust mechanically or chemically (thoroughly rinsed with water after chemical removal). Remove grease and other impurities with COLOR NITRO THINNER.

The humidity must not exceed 15% for coniferous trees, and 12% for deciduous trees. The dry surface needs to be sanded and cleaned, any wax, resin or grease should be removed with COLOR NITRO THINNER. When renovating, just clean and sand the coatings that are not damaged, in case the coating is damaged, remove it completely.

We recommend cleaning the painting tools immediately.

Solvent-based paints and lacquers are easily and quickly cleaned from tools immediately after use; this way smaller amount of COLOR ENAMEL THINNER is used (that also helps to reduce the environmental impact).

Dispose of the packaging in the intended places.

Take packaging with residues of COLOR ENAMEL THINNER to a collection point for hazardous waste to ensure the proper disposal of the unused thinner. Take the emptied packaging to a recycling point.

Remove poorly bonded old coatings, dust and other impurities, remains of wallpaper or adhesives from the surface. If removing impurities with water (wet cleaning), the surface must be completely dry before the application of impregnation. Fill up large cracks and damaged parts of the wall surface with mineral-based levelling putty .

The paint can be applied directly onto wallpaper if it is fiberglass or paper embossed. We recommend prior impregnation with COLOR EMULSION 1:5.

COLOR INTERIOR WALL PAINT can be thinned with water up to 15%. If thinning the paint with more water than recommended, the hiding power of the color film decreases proportionally.

The paint can be tinted with prepared pigment concentrates up to a maximum of 3%.   Prepare a large enough amount of tinted paint for the surface you intend to paint to ensure an even color tone throughout the surface. It is difficult to reproduce the exact shade with manual tinting.

Be careful of the effects of weathering:

COLOR FACADE PAINTS should not be applied in rain, fog or strong wind. In sunny weather, the facade should be shaded in order to avoid uneven drying, as this affects the coating quality.

Surfaces infected with mold or algae should be coated with an appropriate biocidal product before painting. Once the facade surfaces are dry, you can physically remove the mold. The procedure may be repeated multiple times, depending on the degree of infection.

COLOR WOOD STAIN provides adequate protection of wooden surfaces against damp and the weather, prevents cracking and water ingress into the wood, so COLOR WOOD STAIN is the suitable choice for the protection of exterior wooden surfaces. COLOR VARNISH is the right choice when you want to protect interior wooden surfaces, as this form of protection is suitable for elements that are dimensionally stable and not directly exposed to the weather.
